Mama Cacao Dance Ceremony

Live sound, ceremonial cacao and a deliberately small group give this evening a more personal, intentional character than a large ecstatic-dance event. It suits someone drawn to spiritual experiences who would rather move and express themselves than spend the whole evening seated in a circle.

The evening begins with a serving of Peruvian cacao led by Jkson. From there, the group moves into an ecstatic dance session with live sound, supported by Facu. The music combines electronic production with organic textures, native voices and deeper rhythms. After the dance, the pace slows into sound and gong integration, followed by a closing circle.

Mama Cacao was founded by Angel Agustín Jacky, a facilitator and musician from Argentina who is also behind the musical project JKSON. His background includes meditation, breathwork, Reiki, music therapy and studies connected with Andean cultures and traditions of the Peruvian Amazon. Through JKSON, he combines analogue synthesis, native voices, organic textures and deep rhythm in live ceremonial sound experiences. For this event, Angel leads both the cacao opening and the live ecstatic dance experience.

Mama Cacao describes its cacao as ceremonial grade Criollo cacao sourced directly from small family farms and cooperatives in Latin America. According to Mama Cacao, it is organically grown, minimally processed, slowly dried and prepared without added sugar. The cacao is central to the evening rather than simply being served as a welcome drink.

The organiser asks everyone to arrive on time so the opening ceremony is not interrupted. Bring a water bottle and something warm or comfortable for the sound integration. You can also bring a small offering for the cacao, such as flowers, fruit, seeds or nuts. The offering is optional. Participants are asked to fast lightly for at least 2 hours before the ceremony. Anyone who is pregnant, taking antidepressants, or living with a heart condition, high blood pressure, epilepsy or another significant medical condition should contact the organiser before attending.
