Watercolour Retreat by Lake Orta

The course moves from approachable exercises into more developed paintings, with time to practise both in the garden and on location. The excursions to Orta San Giulio, San Giulio Island, the Sacred Mountain and painted village of Legro give participants varied landscapes and architectural details to work from.

Seven nights in a spirituality centre with private-bathroom rooms, guided watercolour teaching and opportunities to paint in the garden and on location. The course covers wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques, colour, sketching, composition, tonal values, perspective and proportion.

Current offers are US$1,538.68 per person sharing and US$1,619.66 for a private room. Seven dinners and five lunches are included. A single scheduled Milan Malpensa transfer is included on arrival day; confirm the exact pickup time before booking. Two guided excursions cost about €40 each at a 12-person group size, and some excursion-day lunches are not included. A materials list is sent after booking.
